Alphonse Laveran (1845-1922) est un médecin militaire qui a découvert le parasite responsable du paludisme (1880). Prix Nobel de physiologie et de médecine (1907). En 1878, il est envoyé en Algérie, à l’hôpital militaire de Bône, puis à Biskra et enfin à Constantine. L’hôpital d’instruction des armées qui porte son nom se trouve au n° 45 du boulevard, à l’emplacement de l’hôpital militaire Labadie, qui logeait les militaires atteints de maladies (…)

Mahboubi Tir
18 mars 2023Anciennement boulevard Prolongé, renommé le 1er juillet 2004.
C’est en terre chaouïa, et plus précisément à Boudhérem, proche de la bourgade de Khenchela que Mahboubi Tir est né en 1915. En langue arabe, tir signifie « oiseau » et mahboubi « bien-aimé », comme un présage de ce que la mémoire des habitants du Grand Saint-Barthélemy retiendra de lui. Nom donné à l’occasion de la commémoration du bicentenaire de la naissance de ce héros de l’indépendance sud-américaine. Simon Bolivar (1783-1830) est l’une des figures tutélaires de l’Amérique latine contemporaine. Né à Caracas le 24 juillet 1783, il tente d’unir une fédération des États latins de l’Amérique du Sud. Françoise Éga (née Françoise Marcelle Modock) est née le 11 novembre 1920 au Morne-Rouge et morte le 8 mars 1976 à Marseille. Ouvrière, écrivaine et activiste sociale martiniquaise, elle est connue pour son rôle de meneuse dans sa communauté et pour sa défense des personnes migrantes des Caraïbes en France.
Depuis sa mort, ses écrits, qui explorent les thèmes de l’aliénation, de l’exploitation et du nationalisme, sont reconnus comme une voix importante (…) -

Ici se trouvait une « campagne » propriété de Gaétan Picon (1809-1821). Né dans la région de Gênes, il arrive avec sa famille en 1815. Il devient apprenti dans diverses distilleries de la région puis s’engage dans l’armée en Algérie, en garnison à Skikda (alors Philippeville). Pour lutter contre les fièvres du paludisme, il utilise puis modifie une vieille recette de son enfance en faisant macérer dans l’alcool des écorces d’orange, de quinquina et de la (…)
